About TJ

Adoption Fee: $300
Australian Cattle Dog / Australian Kelpie
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

TJ is about 10 months. Cattle Dog/ Kelpie / mix. He wound up in the Kerman Police Dept. (their shelter) with his bother Rudy. More coming on Rudy. So this young guy is neutered (thanks Nuts and Bolts Rescue!), vaccinated and microchipped. He got here and went on his first pack walk right away. Well, first we had a seamless introduction to the pack. New volunteer Alexis watched and remarked, 'he's so overwhelmed', as TJ stood while 8 or so other strange dogs sniffed him and postured all around him. Explaining to Alexis, the trick IS to overwhelm them. They don't have their wits about them enough to try and posture or establish rank. The newbies submit. Crotches are sniffed, and then the business of checking out the yard can begin. TJ was great. I gently coaxed him into a van already filled with impatient dogs. I back into the back myself, and TJ came with me with only one tentative tug backwards. Once we parked, everyone was let out, TJ stepped out last. No leash, he hardly got far enough from me to take a photo. I would have thought he needed a good blast off too! But nope, he cruised, very mellow, staying close beside me. So far TJ is just polite! He gently nibbles my fingers as he walks beside me, looking up at me, he's adorable. Besides cute, this is one handsome and athletic dog! TJ's conformation is perfection, square, sound, muscular, perfect weight. His gait is beautiful too. TJ is on the bigger side, he's about 50 lbs. with no extra padding. He is stunning.
