Neila (about 5 and a half months old as of 11/29/18) is a spayed female dilute calico kitten. Neila was rescued from the streets of Waukegan with her mom and sister Elena when they were just a few months old. Their mom was friendly and done nursing them so she went off to be adopted at a shelter while her kittens went into foster care with us to be tamed and socialized. Thankfully her kittens followed in her footsteps and quickly grew to enjoy life with people as pampered house kitties. Neila is the leader, naturally a little more confident than her sister. Like most kittens she is very playful and active, but when she's worn herself out she loves to wind down by curling up in a lap and purr herself to sleep. She gets along well with other cats, especially her sister Elena (unless they are stuck in a small cage together) and would love to go to a home with at least one other young kitty she can play with. She does okay with older children but doesn't have much experience with toddlers. She also spent most of her life without dogs, but is now living in a foster home with a small dog getting used to the sounds and smells, so she could adapt to a smaller, cat experienced dog.
