About Howdy

Adoption Fee: $175
Plott / Treeing Walker Coonhound
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Well howdy partners! I'm the new big man in town, Sheriff Howdy (Howdy for short). I came from over yonder in Highland County and would've ended up in the hoosegow if my friends in Augusta Dog Adoptions didn't scoop me up. I'm a-lookin' for my forever home now and y'all, to tell you the truth, I'd be happy with a city-slicker or a yokel just as long as I'm fed, loved, and warm. I'm only about three years old and I weigh in around sixty-five pounds. Some describe me as namby-pamby, but I prefer the fancy term 'submissive.' I've got a fairly average energy level and I'm very affectionate; I'm pretty much sweet on just about everyone I meet. When I'm not patrollin' the streets, catchin' bandits, or wettin' my whistle in the saloon, you'll catch me playin' in the field with my other dog friends. I could play all day with dogs big or small. And lucky for you, I am leash-trained, house-trained, and crate-trained! Well, now that you know you want me, you ought to come on down to the Waynesboro Petsmart on Saturdays between 10 AM and 2 PM so we can pony up and skedaddle back to your house! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. For more information and to apply to adopt, please visit www.augustadogadoptions.org If you google our address, you will be directed to Richmond. That is NOT our adoption event location.
