About Princess

Adoption Fee: $175
Beagle / Shetland Sheepdog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Arise, loyal subjects, and bask in the regal glow of Princess, Augusta Dog Adoptions' newest arrival and heir apparent! When my owner was injured and could no longer care for me, I was surrendered to the local shelter. Alas, the shelter is no place for royalty like me, so I charmed my way out of there and into a foster home. I am currently in search of a kingdom to rule over with a gentle paw and loyal subjects whom I can cuddle and dote upon. While I'd prefer a lavish castle with a grand throne room, I'm happy to settle for a luxurious two bedroom apartment. I am a four year old, thirty-pound Beagle/Sheltie mix, royal lineage in my humble opinion. I am quite mild-mannered and composed (it's a princess thing), but I am admittedly a bit submissive and a tad timid upon first meeting. I am making excellent progress on house training and leash training and I have completed my courses in crate training with flying colors. I do need to be walked on a harness so that I don't pull out of my collar. I currently reside with a royal court of other dogs and cats; I'm enjoying the companionship with the dogs but I am a bit afraid of the cats. I guess that technically means I'm good with cats? I believe I would do well in a home with children, but they would need to be calm around me as I am easy to scare. I'm a delicate princess after all! If you're looking for a calm, gentle, and quiet companion, you're looking for me, Princess! Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. For more information and to apply to adopt, please visit www.augustadogadoptions.org If you google our address, you will be directed to Richmond. That is NOT our adoption event location.
