He was brought in as a stray and had a golf-ball sized growth on his left shoulder. We removed it and you can see the stitches still healing in the pictures. Two mast cell tumors were found, one is a low grade and one is grade II. His medical diagnosis and vet recommendations can be viewed at the office, radiotherapy or a second surgery is recommended. He healed for several weeks before being placed for adoption and never lost his good spirits the entire time. Both tumors not being in advanced stages, if Simba found someone willing to take him through treatment he has an excellent shot at living a long life. The records stated that 70% of mast cell tumors do not recur once removed. Be Simba's angel - come see him at the Euclid Animal Shelter, 25100 Lakeland Blvd., Euclid, OH. The shelter is open Tues. through Sat. from noon to 4 p.m. He has received his initial set of vaccinations except rabies and will be neutered before leaving the shelter. His adoption fee is $80. All of our dog kennels have indoor/outdoor runs so we cannot say with certainty if any of our dogs are housetrained. We do not test our animals with other cats or dogs. You are welcome to bring your dog to the shelter for a 'Meet and Greet' in one of our outdoor play yards, one of our experienced volunteers will help you.
