About Smokey

Domestic Cat
Age: Kitten
Sex: Male

Smokey (DOB 3/2018) was a stray that had been taken in by a long-time GGOH supporter; when he started to exhibit signs of some tummy trouble and a potential prolapsed rectum, she call us for help. After an thorough exam by our vets, it was determined that there was no prolapse, but just a sore bottom from a poor diet as a stray. We put Smokey on a good diet and things improved and he is ready for adoption. He will forever have a little 'monkey butt' with some redness showing, but this is merely a cosmetic thing at this point. We did have the option to surgically repair his hiney, but were told that it would be purely for cosmetic reasons and he would gain no medical benefits from the procedure - that being said, we opted not to put him through an unnecessary surgery. Smokey would do best in a home without young children as he is not a huge fan of being carried around and young children tend to want to do that to their furry friends. Smokey is great with other cats and questionable with dogs as we have not had the opportunity to introduce him directly to them (although he's observed them from a window and did just fine). He's a very energetic fella with lots of energy and thus, loves to play and chase toys. He's friendly and affectionate and has a spunky attitude. Why not stop in and meet him today!
