Hailey is an adorable Papillon-Chihuahua mix rescued from the East Valley Animal Shelter. She waited and waited for her family, but they never came for her. A kind-hearted volunteer took action and now Hailey is safe and patiently waiting for her new forever family! She is about 6 years old and only weighs 7 pounds, so she's perfectly sized for an apartment or condo. She walks nicely on the leash with no tugging or pulling, and does well with both children and adults alike. Hailey is housebroken and has been trained to use a pee pad, if needed, for longer stretches of time alone at home. She is the ultimate lap dog, so if you are looking for a dog who loves to cuddle, she is the one for you! Hailey's got a great foster mom who's been taking her to obedience classes. She's a super smart little girl who has learned her basic commands and is now working on more challenging ones. Her dream home would be one where someone is home for at least part of the day. She'd be perfect for a retired family, or for families with varied schedules, so she won't have to be alone all day. She's been adjusting well to her foster family's 3 cats, so a home with cats might be a good possibility, but she'd prefer a home without other dogs. She is spayed, dewormed, micro-chipped and fully vaccinated. If you'd like to meet Hailey, please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com. We're only adopting out to the Southern California area. Adoption donation $250.
