About Buddy

Meet Buddy Everyone needs a buddy in their life, especially this Buddy! Buddy is an adorable 10 month old Rat or Jack Russell terrier mix puppy. He was owner surrendered on Nov. 11, 2018 because his owner had too many dogs. Buddy has it all - looks, personality, and smarts. Buddy is house-trained, he does great with other dogs, loves kids and people. We're not yet certain about cats, but we'll test him for any potential adopter. He loves car rides and is leashed trained. Buddy is an energetic puppy with a zest and joy for life. Everything is fun for Buddy. Buddy is a great sized pup. He currently weighs around 25 pounds and not likely to get too much bigger. He's easy to travel with, yet hardy enough to do most anything you want to do and go wherever you want to go. He'd be a terrific companion for an active person or family. His coat is white and brown, with an awesome white blaze and the cutest speckles on top. He has the most expressive eyes and ears. Beware though, Buddy uses them to lure you in for a belly rub, to snuggle or to play a game of fetch...and it works every time! If you're looking for an older puppy that has it all, including a solid head start on puppy/house training (ensuring that his new family keeps it up and provides positive reinforcement), come meet our Buddy. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
