Friends Furever Animal Rescue Published by Dave Wright November 15 at 10:16 PM Meet Tom! Tom came to us almost one year ago, a feral young dog we trapped in a joint effort with Anythings Pawsable Foundation Inc to remove stray dogs from Jerome county. His long journey of rehabilitation began at the foster home of one of our board members. At times it seemed as if he would never learn to trust and indeed it was something that was impeded by some cognitive development challenges he has. It took 4 months before he could be fully integrated into the 'home pack' and 5 more months before he could be transferred to a 'regular' foster home. Tom has come SO far! He is crate trained, potty trained (finally!), dog door trained, and is working on leash training. He is great with other dogs, if not somewhat annoying to some, and is good with cats! He LOVES kids! His quirkiness provides his foster family with many pleasant surprises as he still is learning the many facets of love and human companionship. We are looking for that special home that will be focused on him and can continue to help him flourish. He would love a home with another active dog so he can have fun playing. A good candidate family will be one that have a future with no foreseeable changes that could be too overwhelming for him or cause his life to become uprooted. This rescue will reserve the right to check in on his well being throughout his life. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
