Gertie is a beautiful and sweet, seven-year-old, petite female calico cat with big golden eyes looking for a loving guardian. Poor Gertie was an owner give up at Chicago Animal Care and Control. The poor girl caught an upper respiratory infection at the shelter, but was lucky to find a foster mom to nurse her back to health. She is doing beautifully now after receiving TLC from her foster mom. However, she is not fond of other cats. When she's in her own space, she's a playful purr-head. So, she's looking for a home, preferably, as the one and only feline. She loves to play with feather wands, roll around with anything that has catnip and loves treats and meal time! Her biggest love is humans. She runs right up to you and tries to reach your hand for a pet and then she purrs and purrs. Gertie has all her claws and loves a cat tree. She's great with her litter box. She is now extremely healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, virus-tested negative and micro-chipped. To meet and possibly adopt Gertie, please contact Anne at [email protected] or Dominica at 773-447-2454.
