About KAYLA

Description: Kayla is an eager-to-please 4-year-old gray-with-white spayed female Pit Bull and Labrador Retriever mix who was rescued from a high-intake public shelter. Weighing 55 lbs, Kayla is the ultimate lovebug! She is so happy, affectionate, and fun to be around. Her tail wags constantly with excitement to meet new people. Kayla is housebroken and has done well while left home alone in her foster home. She walks respectably on leash, and is working on her leash manners; her foster home is in downtown Los Angeles, so she is used to walks with lots of traffic, noise, and activity and is totally calm about all that. She loves to go on walks, and would appreciate a home where she can have a daily walk and some time running around the yard. Kayla is gentle and loves to be pet and, if you let her, she will crawl onto your lap for snuggling. Kayla's former owner told us she is great with kids, and we think she'd enjoy being a family dog. They also told us she is not good with cats, so we are not recommending her for households with small animals at this time. Kayla is afraid of other dogs, and has been working on her social skills at doggy day care so she feel more confident. She should be the only dog in the home for now as she continues to build her confidence. We keep telling her she is a big girl who doesn't have to be afraid, but sometimes Kayla just feels small. Everyone who meets Kayla just falls head-over-heels in love--so will you! Kayla will be an awesome addition as an indoor dog in an active household excited to have a loving, playful pooch be a central part of the family.
