About Honey-PENDING!

Pomeranian / American Eskimo Dog
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Honey is an elegant older lady that deserves far better than being turned into a high kill shelter for euthanasia. In her senior years Honey is a very loving snuggler, low maintenance.. and SO sweet girl who just wants to cuddle and be a best friend to an individual or family that desires this pure love in their lives. Honey, at 14 years old or so and 15 lbs or so would be such a perfect companion for anyone who is searching for that very sweet lap dog. She will be by your side to hug and love on...these are always the most important thing to Honey! She's so tiny and portable that she can be a full-time best friend...accompanying her guardians everywhere a small and very lovable dog is allowed. It's always amazing to us at Farfel's Rescue that these dogs with great and engaging temperaments..and as dignified as Honey end up in precarious situations. Honey was a last-minute save for us...she would have been euthanized in a dismal New Mexico shelter if kind rescuers hadn't stepped up. But how could they not have? This tiny sweetheart is just so awesome with lots of life left ...a life in which she can bring so much joy to a special family. Honey just completed her vetting in order to qualify for an interstate health certificate that's necessary for her transport to Denver. The vet marvelled at Honey's age and proclaimed her completely health with the parting statement that he wouldn't be surprised if she made it to at least 20! Honey may be a bit shy initially as rehoming is challenging for any dog...but with love and nurturing, she will absolutely shine. We envision Honey with either retirees (she would be overjoyed with time spent and being at the center of a loving family) or a younger dog-crazy family that works at home or would be able to take Honey to a dog-friendly workplace. Honey can be overwhelmed by super-active and rambunctious dogs... a like-sized and age canine friend would be great as a best pal to Honey. For those family members who enjoy walks and time outside along beautiful Colorado paths....Honey would love nothing more than to share the experience. Her foster loves daily neighborhood walks and Honey always comes along. For a while, Honey enjoys walking along and then up she goes into a backpack to enjoy the view from above. She is always up for these daily walks and is fascinated by the activity around her. She breathes in the air...so happy to be free and outdoors. And then, maybe her favorite part...it's time to end the day with hugs, belly rubs and a warm spot on the bed close beside her beloved family members. As a Pomeranian/American Eskimo mix, Any family interested in adopting Honey will need to commit to coat care. She will require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to allow her hair to grow in cottony- soft, matt-free and very healthy. Honey will be arriving on transport in Denver in late November to early December (we'll update once date is confirmed). Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, silly (once comfortable) and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Honey please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue. **2nd NOTE** Farfel's isn't a shelter. We make a commitment to every dog that we rescue that they'll never be in a facility again. Toward this end, every dog that joins Farfel's Rescue either gets spoken for prior to their arrival in Colorado by pre approved families (who have submitted an application) or has a foster home waiting for them. While we'd love to see you, please don't come to Farfel's expecting to meet dogs. All Meet & Greets are set up by appointment.
