About Colt

Colt is fostered in Bradenton, FL (Manatee County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families. Colt is a handsome puppy between 4-6 months old. We expect he will be a large adult, as he is already 30 lbs. He is an extremely smart, biddable boy who thinks before he acts. He has no fear, and you can tell he is so engaged in living and learning. This boy does need to do some type of performance work or he will need a very active home that will engage him and let him use his brain. This guy LOVES to play, tug, balls, squeakies, and he LOVES water. He shares toys. He just learned about the pond this morning, and tends to think water bowls are mini swimming pools. He is a puppy so he needs to learn the boundaries of what he can and cannot do. He already knows sit, has a great recall, and is learning to leash walk. He uses a dog door and has not had one accident in the house. He is crate trained. He is still learning about his size in relation to other dogs, so he needs monitoring when playing with smaller dogs. Colt is a very very sweet boy. He may be a very nice dock diving dog and a great partner for regular jogging or hiking once fully grown. Colt is up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, and microchipped. He will be adopted out on a neuter contract - once neuter is completed within the specified timeframe, $50 of his adoption donation can be refunded.
