About TRIXIE

*** IN FOSTER-TO-ADOPT *** 'TRIXIE' is an exceptionally cute, sweet, little 'pocket Lab' was rescued from a very high kill pound.. Trixie is about 3 yrs old now, black with a white patch on her chest, and 35 lbs (she's gotten a bit 'chunky' while in foster home). Trixie used to be extremely shy & skittish, but has blossomed tremendously in her foster home where she has gained confidence. Trixie gradually does warm to you (especially with treat incentive) if you permit her to do it at her pace, and comes to check in for affection after this acclimation period & she feels secure. She likes to be gentle held (while she is standing) and gently kissed on the head & side of nose. Trixie needs another dog to continue confidence building, and Trixie is FUN !! Other dogs LOVE to play with her, and she even likes to play with dogs much larger than herself. Trixie is great with male or female dogs, and actually seems to prefer females. Because of her gentle nature, a quieter, peaceful home would be optimal. Trixie is worth this type of patience because she is an absolute delight once she feels secure in a new place and will continue to blossom & flourish. Trixie is spayed, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, on monthly heart-worm preventative, house-trained and crate trained. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
