About HAZEL (PEPPER)

HAZEL came to the rescue pregnant from Yuma Humane Society. Hazel is about 8 lbs, and has a gorgeous shiny black coat, with a dark brown underlay. She was only with us about a week before she had her 6 babies on 9/3. Hazel is a very sweet girl, who was very OCD with her babies. She refused to let their enclosure be dirty even a little bit. Her foster parents constantly cleaned, and ensured her 5 babies (1 was born stillborn) were very well taken care of. Hazel came in as a stray, so we have no clue her beginnings. We know it took her some time to get adjusted to the other dogs in the house, and feel comfortable. She would be great for someone who is home all day, works from home, retired, someone who needs a companion. She would not be a good fit for a family diog. She wants one on one attention. Hazel has been potty trained since day 1. She will cry when she needs to go out, and never ever messes in the house. A plus for anyone who wants a ready to go dog.
