About Carver

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Two-year-old Carver is a Rat Terrier mix and a certified snuggle master! He is long with stocky legs, and at just 17 lbs., he is the perfect size and shape for cuddling. Carver is house-trained and has great house manners, so he doesn't chew on anything that's not his. He walks well on leash and rides politely in the car. Carver is crate trained, but he does not enjoy being crated because at his previous home, he was kept in a crate most hours of the day and night, let out only to potty. Carver feels insecure in busy environments and his instinct is to try to control the situation. He will nip at children and young people because he wants to control their actions - he wants them to settle down or sit still, etc. For this reason, Carver needs a relatively quiet, adults-only home. Carver is rather submissive and extremely affectionate with adults. He offers the sweetest kisses to anyone who treats him gently. When he's not snuggling (his favorite activity), he loves to play with toys and is happy to entertain himself with a ball or a stuffed toy. Carver likes to play with other dogs, but he wouldn't mind being an only dog so that he can keep all the toys and human affection for himself. He hopes for a home where someone is around most of the time, because he gets very sad when he is left alone. Carver longs to find someone who wants him as their best friend, and in return, he will be their most loving, loyal, and grateful companion.
