About Axel

This is Axel born May 10th, we took him from a friend who bought him from Craigslist in San Diego for her little boy. She soon realized he was more than she could manage being a single mom working night shifts. We got him from her at 8 weeks. She was going to take him to the animal shelter. She told us that she was told he was a German Shepherd. So we were glad to welcome him into our home. Soon after, so many people said that he leaned more to a Malinois and as we watched his energy level and intelligence, and physical appearance, we started to agree he was probably more of a Malinois genetically and some German Shepherd in his blood line. As it is, he's been way more than the German shepherds we have encountered as far as energy level. He has puppy like tendencies, potty trained and knows many commands. Our 8 and 6 year old girls love him but his puppy behavior, the mouthy playing and trying to jump on them only causes more hysteria and gets Axel wound up even more. He is very close to me. If he could have it his way he would be happy that it would be him and I. He's got a lot of puppy energy, and being a Malinois, the maligator mouth can get scary for the girls. He's very intelligent, and with proper training, and the right owner, he would be a perfect companion. He really needs a job. We don't give home one. He's healthy, has all his vaccinations but not yet licensed. Please, let me know if you feel he is a good fit for you. I think he really needs a physical strong owner, it's almost impossible for me to walk him. He doesn't like bicyclist, runners, or children running and screaming. But I think all that can be learned. He needs a lot of physical activity and time invested in him. Someone who understands the breed and can manage him appropriately. He's only 6 months so he's got plenty of time to relearn and learn. We want him to be in a home to allow him to live a life of what this breed is meant to do and be.
