SAY HELLO TO AUSTIN! Austin is a very handsome 5 year old Border Terrier / Norwich Terrier mix boy. Weighing in at a solid 27 pounds, Austin is a very cool dog! Austin came to us through no fault of his own. His family went through a divorce and sadly neither were able to make Austin a part of their new life. So here he is with us and we are determined to find him a family to make him part of theirs! Austin is a very quiet boy. He is somewhat shy when he meets strangers but once he gets to know you, he warms right up. He will become very playful with you and does not mind a good ear scratch and belly rub! He gets along well with his foster mates here at the rescue, but is submissive and shy upon introduction. He doesn't care much for cats, and prefers to chase them. Austin walks very nicely on the leash and greets strangers politely and respectfully. He will ride like a gentleman in the passenger's seat of the car and rather enjoys the sites and scents. Austin was housetrained with his prior family, but like all rescues coming into a new home, he will need gentle guidance and patience as he adjusts to his new family's routine as he is shown where he is to go and what he is to do. Austin has not been tested around children so we are asking that if children are in the home, that they be over the age of 11 and will understand and be respectful of him. Austin is a longer rough coated breed that will require regular weekly brushing and professional grooming every 8-12 weeks. Austin's adoption fee is 350.00 This fee includes his Veterinarian Wellness checks while here at the rescue, his neuter, all vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, de-worming, a pre-adoption professional groom and a microchip with lifetime membership. Austin will also have a new collar and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality grain free kibble that he has been eating. His adoption fee also allows us the ability to put funds towards the next little one in need of rescue!
