About Tasha

Tasha is about 1 1/2 years old. Tasha has an amazing story to tell. Please look up her story on facebook Tashas Journey To A New Beginning. She has been thru a lot and has recovered without a beat. Tasha came from a home that had 10 other dogs plus several cats in their home. The home was not in good condition or kept very clean. The dogs were living in feces and urine and covered with fleas. They were emaciated. We rescued 4 out of the house on a Sunday afternoon. Her owner wanted to keep her as they thought she was pregnant. Tasha had a litter of puppies 6 months ago and they all died at 6 weeks of age. One week later we got an urgent call that Tasha was attacked by the male dog in the home. She was in bad shape and the owner now wanted to surrender her. We spoke with the emergency vet in that area and let them know she would be brought in by her owner and we were on our way but were 2 1/2 hours away. Upon arrival Tasha was in such a state of shock and her wounds were everywhere and some very deep. We had xrays done and spoke with the vet after that to see what her chances were. We were not sure she was going to make it. But after the x-rays were completed she had a nasal fracture and nothing else broken. We decided to help her fight to recover. They stabilized her and gave her a pain shot and we made the journey back to Fort Wayne to the emergency vet. Tasha was there for a couple days and released to our vet where she spent a week in their care. She is now in a foster home. She healed so quickly she now wants to find her forever home. She enjoys people and loves her walk and to play fetch. She is good around cats. We would like a home without other dogs or a submissive male. We want her to have the best possible forever home. She deserves all the attention. Tasha will need someone who can continue to work with her and take her for walks and hikes that she is enjoying so much. We will ask that you take her to obedience classes to continue her training. She is a very loving trusting gal!
