About Scooby

Scooby is a wonderful puppy. He is approximately 14 weeks old and is a Bloodhound and Beagle mix. He is currently 25 pounds and has lanky long legs. Scooby has had a chaotic first few months and we are glad he found his way to our rescue. He was purchased as a gift for someone (never a good idea) and that person didn't want the puppy. They asked a friend to watch the puppy for a few days and never came back for him. A relative of the friend Scooby was left with took the initiative to pick him up, get him to the vet and to our rescue. Scooby is a smart puppy who is quickly learning basic commands like sit and come. He is enjoying being in a home with other dogs that he can play with, but he is also respectful of the older dogs that are teaching him puppy manners. Scooby is an active puppy who needs a fenced yard to run and play in. Because he is a mix of two scent hounds he will follow his nose anywhere a scent leads so he needs a fence to keep him contained and safe. He is already learning fetch and it is a good way to tire out a young puppy. Since he is just a puppy he is still working on his housetraining and needs to be able to get out about every four hours during the day. Scooby is doing well with walking on a leash and is used to being kenneled when no one is at home. Our best estimate is that Scooby will be between 50 to 60 pounds as an adult. Scooby is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He still needs to have two of his puppy parvo/distemper boosters when he is old enough. With a little attention and training Scooby will make a wonderful family dog. Contact us to meet this happy and sweet puppy.
