About Sam (was Simon)

This is Sam! He is one of four German Shepherd brothers, that need a new home. 3 of the brothers have been adopted to wonderful homesand are dping well. These guys lived on one property their entire lives. During the day they were all in one kennel and at night they were set loose to watch the business. They really haven't experienced much in their 3 years of life. They've never met other dogs, cats, children or people(besides the people that worked on the property) until coming here. Sam is the more dominant of the brothers. Sam has been with us for about 2 months now and is ready for adoption TO AN APPROVED HOME! Sam is the more calm and steady of the brothers, but still acts very cautious of new people, new things and new enviornments. He needs a very confident but calm owner that won't be afraid to lay rules down and stay consistent with them. When he has a strong leader, he's pretty good on walks, good in the car, good for nails and good at the vet. He does like to try to stay and walk with one person in the yard. He wants to bond to one main person. What Sam Needs: Sam needs a Person with Shepherd experience as well as experience working with a dog unexposed to the world. Someone who is willing to exercise him daily for 30 mins to an hr plus! (walk, jog, bike, or hike) No dog parks! Someone who will be patient and willing to continue to expose him to the world. Someone who wont force people interactions and doesn't need to be constantly and unhealthily touching their dog. Someone who is comfortable with structure and setting healthy boundaries with their dog. This guy is a medium energy Shepherd, not a working line dog. He is a really nice dog, he just needs someone who will take the time he needs to slowly expose him to the world. He is good with big dogs and small dogs, but will need to be with someone who is willing to learn body language , so that his interactions with dogs stay polite and balanced. He was the alpha in his group of brothers, so he can't be with a person that won't set strong boundaries with people and animal interactions. That could go very wrong, very quick. I can't wait to see how well this dog does in the right enviornment, with his perfect person! ������
