About Gizmo

Hi, my name is Gizmo! I am a 2 (I'll be 3 on 2/8/19!) Pitbull-boxer mix. I am spayed and UTD on all my shots. Although I am a love bug, I am fearful and anxious towards a lot of things and recently have been venting my anxiety and redirecting this onto my big sister at home. Because of this, my mom and dad are forced to rehome me as I have injured my sister. I would do best in a home where I am the ONLY dog! My fearfulness can get the best of me and I can react negatively towards other dogs when I become very stressed out. I LOVE to play with all my toys and am very content to snuggle on the couch with my mom and dad where I can bury under the blankets. I have been around children and do well, however, if you adopt me please keep the introductions calm, and take your time with me. Once I warm up to you I will be your best friend! I am used to being around cats and although I occasionally try to play with mom and dad's cat, I know to leave them alone. I do have one minor medical issue that I want my future parents to know about. I was diagnosed with hyperkeratosis on my paw pads as a puppy (that means I produce extra, hard keratin on my feet) when allowed to grow, this can be painful and make my feet sore so every 4 weeks or so my mom and dad give me a 'spa treatment' and trim my nails, moisturize my paw pads, and use a dremel tool to sand down the extra growth. This keeps my feet healthy and keeps me moving comfortably! My mom and dad love me very much and just want to see me go to a loving home where I can be the best dog ever.
