About Cupid

Been waiting SIX MONTHS: Spring is Here and Cupid is Still waiting for YOU!!! Foster and/or Adopter Needed for Smart Dog Looking for even Smarter Owner. For some reason Cupid keeps being passed over. She is only around a year old, still a pup,and has been at the shelter for nearly 6 months now. She is extremely Smart and that makes for even more difficulty being in a shelter. The staff keep her stimulated, enriched, exercised and socialized. That has helped tremendously and they are seeing all of their hard work paying off in spades. However nothing can compare to the comforts of a home to allow this dog to relax and show her Smarts in constructive ways. She Loves to solve problems and will keep herself busy with food puzzles. The more complicated the better!! But if she gets bored due to the frustration of shelter life she will gravitate toward passing shoes. She is now working on impulse control. This is where an experienced home, either foster or adopter, would allow Cupid to shine. She has proven a more relaxed pup off shelter grounds and enjoys escapes in the car and to the park. There she forgets about shoes:) . She is surprisingly good in the crate and spends time hanging out in the office. She needs time learning to relax and we strongly feel a change of environment will allow her that freedom. She enjoys other dogs but just doesn't know what to do. So she will need a nice balanced dog and person to teach her. We think that will be outlet she will benefit from. She is doing very well walking on leash and learning to settle in with quiet time too. She enjoys road trips. Is fine with dogs. But prefers a home without kids or cats. As said, a laid back dog that might help show her the ropes would be good or an only dog household.
