About Waffles

Hello, We adopted our amazing dog Waffles 6ish years ago and he has been WONDERFUL. After we had our first kid, his behavior changed and we did a lot of training and after we brought our second kid home it didn't get any worse, but didn't get any better. His normal training wasn't affected though- he is still completely house trained and can come, sit, stay, shake, etc. So.... I am DEVASTATED to have to write this post, but last night he bit our two year old. He has never been aggressive towards us, he sleeps in our bed and we kiss his face, but we just can't keep him if he might snap at or bite our kiddos. Waffles is EXCELLENT with us and we love him to the moon. He just can't be around kids. (He doesn't like big dogs, strangers, or cats very much for that matter, he likes to keep a calm environment) He loves playing fetch, he loves hiking, and he loves lounging around. He always wags his tail when he sees us and is a great house guard dog (always barks when any stranger approaches). He is so much part of our life and we're devastated to make this decision. Please let me know if you have a kid and stranger free (not having people over all the time, we want him to be able to relax) home and are looking for a walking /running/fetch buddy.
