About Bukka

Looking for a older, laid back, guy to pal around with? Bukka might be your boy! Age: Approximately 4.5-5 years old Weight: 55-60lbs Good with other dogs?: Bukka has been great with both male and female dogs in the foster home around his size who are not high energy and respect his space. He has not been around small dogs. However, he is protective of toys, so this should be taken into consideration. He would be excellent (and probably happiest) as a only dog also. Good with cats?: No cats please! Good with children: Bukka is fine with considerate children of all ages. Activity level: Moderate. Even though he has a pretty chill personality, this boy would benefit from long walks, hikes/exploring and playtime in the yard with toys, however, he also doesn't mind being a lazy couch potato at times. Bukka is smart, willing to please. He would do great in obedience classes or sporting activities to bond with his person and stimulate his physical and emotional being. He enjoys a comfy bed to lounge in or to couch potato it with his favorite human when the day is done. Favorite things: TOYS! He is OBSSESSED with rope toys, balls and his jolly ball (rope and ball toy). So much so that these things should be reserved for his special time in the crate or yard. If other dogs in the home these things need to be removed as they can be possible triggers for conflict. Bukka is house trained, however, he is not a huge fan of the crate, but within a few days of being in a new environment he acclimates to it. He will go in willingly and sit to wait for his treat. He is well mannered on leash. Bukka is quiet for the most part, listens to direction. He would be a great companion for a single/older person looking for a friend. Great dog!
