About LUNA

Adoption Fee: 400.
German Shepherd mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Luna is a 1 year old, spayed female German Shepherd dog. Luna is a petite female that will stay in the 50 to 55 pound range. She has a mild handicap: her left front foot was broken in the past and healed poorly due to lack of veterinary care. Luna can walk, run, and have a good quality of life but will not be an all-star athlete. She may need anti-inflammatory medications in her future to avoid discomfort. Upon adoption, a veterinary visit can further advise on how to best accommodate her needs. Luna came to Little Heart K9 with several behavioral issues. Luna's bratty behavior included falling down to avoid what she didn't want to do, biting, fighting with other dogs and people, being very vocal, demanding attention on her terms, etc. Luna has come a long way since being integrated in to the Little Heart K9 pack. Luna still needs work, and her adopters will need to follow through with obedience classes and training. Local dog trainer, Jill Cruz, has offered a complimentary in-home lesson to Luna's adopters. Luna can be sweet, very snuggly with dogs and people, talkative, playful, and endearing. She'll need continued work with social skills outside of her home, practicing basic obedience skills such as sit, down, leave it, etc; being polite when meeting other dogs and people, and help with grooming: being brushed, having her nails trimmed, being polite with veterinary staff. With proper guidance, patience, and consistency, all of these things are obtainable with Luna. Luna is kennel trained, completely housebroken, eats well, and can live with well balanced dogs, she likes to play and snuggle with dogs. Small children are not recommended, cats are unknown.
