About Richard

Richard is a lovely dog. He is an Italian Mastiff. He was brought up to PA from Texas. (thus the Fee) His owner died and the owners children brought him to a shelter. This shelter just could not put him down, (and they have a high turn over rate) because of his gentle manner and demeanor. Richard could actually be a service dog or therapy dog. But I would like to see him with a couple of children who REALLY want a dog to love and play with and sleep with. Richard is loyal. He will follow you where ever you go. He loves, loves loves attention. He loves to run, So he needs land and a fenced in yard, for his own protection. He walks very well on a leash. and knows many tricks. He is very smart. I will be very particular where he goes. I have 4 dogs (all rescue) he gets along with all of them. I will keep him if need be, but I want him to have his own family, so he can have his own undivided attention. I want him to have this. The picture I took of him does not look so great. please look at my facebook page to see much better pictures. I am only asking a small part of what I paid to bring him up here. I paid over 1200.00, plus all the shots and visits and maintanance so far. I am figuring closer to 3000.00 I will only use this money for the next pup in need. serious inquiries only. Richard has too much energy for an apartment or elderly couple. But what I always like to tell people when they are looking for a dog for there children is this: older dogs are perfect. First they are already trained. (potty) Second, if you look at adoption sights, there are many dogs for adoption because the children have grown up and the parents are now empty nesters and now 'want to do their own thing'. (I personally do not know how people can be so heartless, but they are out there) but with an older dog, they age with your children. And you yourself can do the math.
