SAY HELLO TO SCAR ! Scar is a wonderful purebred cuddly Shih Tzu boy. Weighing in at just 9 pounds, Scar came to us as a severely emaciated and injured stray. He was in horrible condition with a large open wound down his back. We searched for an owner for quite a while. however no one came forward and no one was looking. Scar had a complete work-up with our Veterinarian and he was diagnosed with Valley Fever. He is currently on Valley Fever medication and has responded fabulously! He may need to be on a little longer but not likely forever. He will come with a 3 month supply if needed. If you are looking for an endearing faithful and loving companion, Scar would b the one. He is just perfect in every way! He loves to be with his people or person and is just so well behaved! He is housetrained and will use the doggie door when he is supervised as dogs should never have access to the outdoors when their family is not there. He has no issues with being crated. Like all new dogs, he will need gentle guidance and patience as he adjusts to her new family's routine. Scar is favorite here at the rescue as he is such a sweet senior. He greets everyone he meets so gently. His age is an estimate as he does not carry himself like a senior dog. He has come so far physically and is such a special boy. He is loving and sweet and gentle and never demanding. He's the perfect lap dog for someone who is not very active. Scar gets on well with all of his foster mates and would do well with another small dog that is as easy going and gentle as he is. Scar is a longer coated breed that will require regular weekly brushing and professional grooming every 6 to 8 weeks to keep that gorgeous coat on point! Scar's adoption fee is $ 250.00 This fee includes his Veterinarian Wellness checks while here at the rescue, a 3 month supply of oral Valley Fever medication, his labwork, neuter, all vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, de-worming, a pre-adoption professional groom and a microchip with lifetime membership. Scar will also have a new collar and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality grain free kibble that he has been eating. His adoption fee also allows us the ability to put funds towards the next little one in need of rescue!
