We have had Maximus since he was three months old, he has always been a very happy, friendly, loving and high energy malamute mix. We are needing to re-home him do to some recent behavioral changes such as anxiety with other dogs, cats, small children, certain adults, food aggression, toy aggression, fear and these have resulted two incidents in our home (bite, no blood or deep puncture) with family member and a stranger. He started showing signs of these issues after being attacked by another dog two years ago and slowly progressed. He plays great with our other dog but since the attack is fearful of other dogs. We were working with a trainer and saw some improvement within just three classes with his training dog. Max was able to walk beside the other dog, sniff each ether etc. but we are unable to continue training to do financial reasons. I believe with the right owner, home and training he can become the confident social and human loving dog he was before being attacked. He needs a home with a large backyard, possibly someone with a large property such as a farm.
