About Salome

Little Miss Salome is a 5 lb, 2 yr old Yorkshie Terrier mix. We saw her sitting in detention at a high kill shelter as it seems she bit someone. The shelter workers felt that she had been mistreated and had bitten more out of fear than aggression. Her foster mom has been working with her to get her over the 'fear hump' of people. When she first took Salome in she just let Salome be. She did not hold Salome or pay her much attention. By doing this, speaking gently to her and allowing Salome to go at her own pace, Salome has now become incredibly loving towards her foster mom. A delightful personality has also been emerging. She loves playing with both her foster mom and toys. She walks beautifully on a leash and her foster mom LOVES that she is housebroken. As she can be a little terrier barker when she hears or sees activity outside, we do not feel that she would be a good match for apartment living. Also a non-child household would be best. She gets on fine with other dogs and even cats. If you feel that you are able to do the same as her foster mom has done, mainly have patience, give her space along with time to adjust again to what for her will seem like strange new surroundings you will end up with a loving little charmer.
