About Salem

Meet Salem! 4 months old /22 lbs The first word that comes to mind with Salem is 'happy' He is just so happy and loves life. He loves his people! When you walk into a room he'll be so happy to see you he'll give you lots of kisses and hugs.! He also has a bit of a wiggle butt. He just can't stop from wiggling his butt when he sees his favorite humans. He's smart too. He knows 'sit' and 'down' and is very treat motivated Salem-is very affectionate! he is doing great on a leash so far. He is excellent at checking in when he's on leash. Salem loves sleeping in his crate all night. He jumps right in there and snuggles up when it's time for bed. Salem knows he's supposed to go to the bathroom outside, he just needs to work on a signal with his family to communicate his needs. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spay/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, we do not permit out of state adoptions of unaltered dogs or puppies. Puppies have special needs and require a home where there will be someone available to care for, socialize, and train them during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.
