About Fineus-PENDING!

Corgi / Fox Terrier
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

You know that we all have our favorites...maybe it's the pup that snuggles a bit closer once he's comfortable and wags his entire body when he sees you.. simply because he wants to share how much love he feels inside. His gratitude for being safe knows no bounds. These descriptions would fit Fineus to a tee. Fineus's New Mexico rescuers were set on saving this sweet boy's life. Their hearts went out to the adorable little guy who got caught in an extremely overcrowded shelter system. This was through no fault of his own but due to a broken system that doesn't have the time or personnel to deal with the little guy in the dark cage... wagging his tail so hopefully. Fineus's great temperament is obvious to all..he's a friendly and engaging guy who is so cute that many find him irresistible. His dark eyes, that are pleading and so wise, were his ticket to a new life in Colorado. Fin was vetted and brought to a nurturing New Mexico foster home to get the attention and nurturing that he has always deserved. His foster mom is helping Fin work on his house skills and self confidence... he's blossoming and getting more successful each day. Fineus is just about ready to for his long trip to Colorado - a bit wiser and so excited about all the new possibilities in his life. We feel that Fineus may have been treated unkindly during his short life...he's a bit shy at first, but bounces back very quickly when he feels wanted and loved. Fineus never hesitates to put his best self forward...that includes a sweet and silly personality and enthusiasm and snuggly hugs for his favorite human and canine friends We can't forget that Fineus, at 15 lbs and 10 months old is still learning...he's a blank slate just waiting to be patiently taught. Being a young guy still, Fineus is open to new ideas with new ways of approaching challenges...and he shines with his successes. Fineus would benefit from positive reinforcement group training classes (all dogs do!) so he can be given clear guidelines and fun socialization. It would also cement the relationship with his family so Fineus will understand that he is loved, accepted and a very important family member. Fineus would be a great take-along pup for retirees who desire the loving and cuddly company of a furry guy. He would also enjoy a younger family...with dog-crazy older children who think that a little fluffy guy is the greatest pal. They would need to provide him with the exercise and mental stimulation that every well-adjusted young dog should have. Fineus will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Fineus's neuter and microchip after his arrival if one of our rescue vets is used. Fineus appears to be a lightly shedding guy. His compassionate NM rescuer gave Fineus a sudsy bath and luxurious brushing knowing that in time a beautiful and cottony-soft coat would grow in. Fineus will require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a daily salmon oil supplement is recommended for longevity and hair care) to keep his coat healthy, super-soft and matt-free. Fineus will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 11/17/18. Applications are currently being accepted for this very loving lap dog and best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out our application completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Fineus please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
