Smokey has a very loving, affectionate and playful personality - most of the time. He would be the perfect dog were it not for his occasional tendency to be aggressive in guarding his toys and chewies. His owners are a family of three who were given Smokey by their neighbors when they moved away. Smokey's owners love him a lot, but fear that his resource guarding behavior will pose future problems when their new grandchild arrives in the next few months. Smokey has spent time with a pet sitter in another home, and had no issues whatsoever. He is very good with his groomer, as well. It seems that the aggression happens only in his owners home, where he seems to believe that he is top dog. The behavior is only evident when it comes to items on the floor.
