About Olive

Adoption Fee: $100
Domestic Cat
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Olive is a beautiful, and loving, ten-year-old, 8.8-pound, female four-paw-declawed petite Maine Coon-mix cat looking for a loving foster or permanent guardian. Olive is a gorgeous girl who is an easy and typically gentle companion. She prefers to be the one and only pet in your life. She just doesn't like to share her space with other pets. She loves snuggling in your lap and in your arms. She gives gentle kisses and likes to climb up high and look out windows. She'll even bat a toy around! She would love to go to a loving home where she can be doted on and enjoyed. We are looking for a special cat-lover who has no other cats or dogs and knows how to administer, or is willing to learn to give life-enhancing subcutaneous fluids. Olive needs to fluids to help her de-tox because she is in the early stages of kidney insufficiency. She actually enjoys the process and jumps in my lap and purrs for her daily treatments. Found sitting in a cat carrier in a Wilmette alley, we don't know Olive's backstory. She was found during the heavy rains in the fall of 2017, and the carrier was filled with rain water and her urine. I can't even imagine the torment she went through. Olive can be quirky yet lovable, but she also comes with some 'cattitude.' She prefers when people are mindful while around her. If you walk by her too quickly and not acknowledge her, she will grab your leg with her teeth (since she has no claws). And, if you dare pet her and not fully engage '| like check your cell phone '| she might nip again. She's the cat that reminds you to be mindful of her beautiful presence. Her adoption fee of $100 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Petraits rescue and includes a generous supply of fluids and her favorite prescription foods and treats. She is otherwise healthy, spayed, four paw - declawed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and virus-tested negative.
