Ruby is light years younger in spirit and body than she is in years. I can only hope that my golden years find me as fit, fun and fancy-free. She loves everything about humans and it is clear that she was a well-loved family member at one point in her life. She craves human attention and shadows me around the house. That said, she crates well and after a few minutes of voicing displeasure, settles down nicely for the evening. She loves to curl up on the sofa and snuggle during 'tv time'... Eager to take car rides, she makes and excellent co-pilot! Housebroken, crate trained, non-destructive, zero guarding issues with food, treats, toys, etc. She doesn't mind being touched anywhere, bathes nicely and listens when told to sit, lie down, get down from the sofa, crate up, etc. Sadly, it appears that Ruby was not socialized much. Although not aggressive, she is not a fan of other dogs approaching her (offers very strong corrections when approached) and is way too interested in the cat. Ruby is a great fit for any human home and would offer a teenager an excellent play partner. I believe she is best as an only pet or perhaps after very slow introduction with a calm, non-pushy pup. She beams in crowds as well as with only one caretaker. She goes from one person to another, samples treats and enjoys togetherness and caresses. She always wears a smile, her prime asset, wags her tail and wiggles her butt to let you know that you are most welcome! She loves to kiss, too. Nobody can resist Ruby! She is the life of the party! Although her previous owner stated that she never mingled with kids, Ruby was all excited to see a mob of pupils coming out of a nearby school. She is a great walker, likely housetrained and well mannered nearing birds and other dogs. Ruby is great company, charming, active, playful, sociable and very loving. She will make a very endearing, lively and affectionate companion to the person who will choose her as his/her new four legged best friend. Come and meet spunky Ruby!
