SAY HELLO TO DODGER! Dodger is a very shy but playful wheat coated Cairn Terrier / Poodle mix boy. Weighing in at 23 pounds, this handsome boy came to us not only as a stray, but after being hit by a car. He was dropped off for both his medical care and to search for his owners. We are happy to say, he has completely recovered from his injuries, however his prior owner has never been found. Though timid upon introduction to strangers, Dodger is a very kind boy to all he meets. With strangers, he will respond with flinching and head downward - red flags that are seen when a dog has been physically abused. Very upsetting that someone would hit him as he is just such a sweet boy. Dodger is a sweet boy with big brown eyes that will simply melt your heart. He is not a hyper dog nor a barker and he will be a protective and loving friend for his new family. Dodger is leash trained and rides quietly in the car. He gets on well with his foster mates (but does chase the cats), however he does netter with the females. So if there is a furry family member in your home, Dodger would thrive with a female for companionship or even as the only dog. We have worked with Dodger on his housetraining as we believe he has never had any. So Dodger like all rescues coming into a new home, he will need gentle patience and guidance as he adjusts to his new family's routine. He also takes no issue with being crated. Dodger would do well with a family of adults or adults with older kids. He has not been tested with little kids, so we would be ok with older kids that have experience, gentle hands and respect for small dogs like Dodger. Dodger is a longer coated breed that will require regular weekly brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to keep that gorgeous coat looking beautiful. Dodger's adoption fee is $ 350.00 This fee includes his Veterinarian Wellness checks while here at the rescue, his neuter, all vaccinations including rabies and bordatella, de-worming, a pre-adoption professional groom and a microchip with lifetime membership. Dodger will also have a new collar and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality grain free kibble that he has been eating. His adoption fee also allows us the ability to put funds towards the next little one in need of rescue!
