My name is Evie Burguieres, I work at a vegan boutique in NOLA. I am friends with an elderly couple who live in Saline, Louisiana, James and Gwen. They recently saved 5 Walker Hounds that were abandoned and starving near their property in Saline, Louisiana (Bienville Parish). The dogs were in terrible shape when James found them, hardly able to walk because they were so malnourished. The dogs are skittish and won't come near enough for James to catch, but he and his wife have been feeding them and were able to get 4 of the 5 dogs inside their fenced property, relatively safe from hunters that roam the area. James and his wife are both elderly with disabilities, so they really can't take care of the dogs (plus they have 2 rescue dogs at home). Hunters in the area have been threatening to 'take care of' the dogs if something is not done soon. Is there any way you could help get these dogs to safety? James and his wife are wonderful people, they are tremendously worried about the dogs and they do not use the internet, which is why I am reaching out on their behalf.
