About Rocky

Introducing Rocky! He is a 4 year old Long Haired Dachshund who weighs 11.5 pounds. He was surrendered to us by his owner who could no longer keep him. Rocky has a lot of personality! He is well behaved and responsive to commands and direction. He's also very affectionate. Rocky loves attention but he isn't a lap dog. He enjoys cuddles and kisses but would rather be near you than on you! Rocky is used to being around other dogs and enjoys their company, so a dog companion would be good for him but not a deal breaker. He loves playing with toys too! Rocky hasn't been tested cats. When he first came to us he hadn't been tested with kids either but, given his personality and his demeanor, we thought he would do just fine with kids who are old enough to know how to respect his space. He was previously adopted and sure enough, proved that he does not do well around smaller children so he has been returned. No children under 5 for him in his next home! Rocky loves to run around in the yard so a fence would be nice to have or a safe area where he can enjoy himself but still be contained. Rocky isn't fully housebroken and has a tendency to mark in the house. We are using a belly band when he is in the house to control this behavior until it is corrected. Being the love bug that he is, Rocky likes to sleep at night with his person. He is just an all round sweet guy who deserves a family to call his own.
