About Mr. Bingley

Meet Mr. Bingley! He is a Shih tzu, but doesn't have a lot of hair becasue of his allergies and neglect. Mr Bingley is a sweetheart! He's scared, and even after a month he is still not sure what to make of his new surroundings. He still only picks up a few pebbles of food from his bowl and runs away to eat (like the food will be taken away). We're trying to work on his trust issues. He likes to be around people, and sleeps next to our feet, as long as we don't try to touch him. He still doesn't like having his head touched. His skin condition has improved so much! He has started growing more hair and he's in need of grooming, but freaks out when we get close to his face. We slowly trim his nails, but his quick is so long, we can only clip a little at a time. He begs at the kitchen table, and food motivated. He is smart, he follows commands and seems to understand what is asked of him. He gets along with other dogs well, but he won't eat from the same bowl as them, or in their presence. We have to put up the rest before he will approach the dog bowl. He uses the doggy door now, and he prefers to be outside, but he doesn't like rain. Mr. Bingley needs some time and people who will be patient with him. It will take him a long time before he will trust humans again.
