About Brooke

Akita
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

I am praying you can help me or point me in a direction! We just rescued a pure bread Akita from a horrible owner and situation. The dog was purchased from a breeder as a puppy then chained to a tree since he was brought home. His name is Brooke and he is about 4 to 5 years old. He had been chained to a rhododendron bush with no shelter, limited access to food and water and no vet care his entire life. He was severely neglected and abused. It took me 4 days to get him out of the situation he was in. His previous owners are heavily into drugs and were high both times I came to the property trying to get the dogs out. The other dog has already been placed with a rescue but Brooke will need someone who understands akita's. He appears to have been more abused then the other dog. So he will require more love and work to over come what was done. He is a sweet boy that deserves a second chance! I answered a plea off facebook for someone to go get the dogs. Out of over 40+ different people commenting, I was the only one who stepped up. Brooke has been taken to Ridgetop animal hospital where he received care for the first time. His health checked out minus a yeast outbreak all over his skin and a serve ear infection. All of which he is currently being treated for. He is currently an intact male and 115lbs but he is scheduled to get fixed in the next few weeks once he feels a little better. We need help finding him a home as we cannot keep him. We already have enough little critters and he needs someone who will have the time to invest in him and understands how to work with this breed, which we do not. I have attached pics of Brookes journey. He is currently shaved. He will come with a bed, dog treats, bowls, a leash and whatever other things we get for him while he is in our care. Please help us help Brooke! Thank you, Nikki 803-470-8023
