Liza Mae is a stunning, exuberant and athletic 52 lb Ridgeback mix who came from a kill shelter in Texas. Beyond the weeks she spent in that shelter, then rescue, before arriving in Oregon through Street Savvy Dog Rescue, we known nothing about her past. She's now about 2 years old but still very much a goofy, sweet, loving puppy. Aside from heart-stoppingly gorgeous, Liza Mae is an exquisite runner, truly poetry in motion. She who would be in heaven with her own human runner, long-distance walker, skateboarder, you name it, since exercise is the key to her happiness and her heart. I've been fostering Liza Mae for 8 months and had hopes of keeping her forever but find myself torn between two very different animals whose needs do not match up. Milo, my older Golden, Milo, has a heart condition and will soon be slowing down, while beautiful LIza Mae needs stimulus, playing and - most especially - one-on-one training to build her confidence and help her settle into herself. Liza Mae is housebroken, crate-trained, comes when called 4 out of 5 times (!), and though she walks quite nicely on a leash, she is leash-reactive and needs positive, compassionate, non-punitive training. If you enjoy training - she craves it and responds well, a champion at heart - have a fenced property and are athletic, you definitely want to get in touch with me to talk about the one and only Liza Mae!
