Poor Coco was found roadside with his leg ripped off and significantly undernourished. A good Samaritan found him and kept him alive with Pedialyte until she could get him to the vet. The vet said the leg being gone was an old wound that miraculously healed on its own even though Coco doesn't quite realize the leg isn't there. He gets around fine but still walks as though the leg is there. There is a nub where the leg used to be but he vet felt that since it was healed, there was no need to do anything with it. Being a typical street dog, food was a high commodity to him so he doesn't like to eat where anyone can take it away from him. It is best to feed him in his crate where he finds safety and comfort. He is crate trained and house broken and sees his crate as a sanctuary away from his other furry foster and human siblings. Coco takes a little time to warm up but as he becomes comfortable and gains confidence, we have no doubt that Coco will flourish in his new home.
