A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet. James maltese mix what he is mixed with unknown, 7 years old. Neutered, just over 10 lbs, hard of hearing. Yet again once more another horrendous situation of disregard for a sweet souls little life. James was dropped off at our vets in CA per his owner to be euthanized as they did not want to pay for James medical care but our wonderful vet had him signed over to them & to save his precious life then she reached out to us to find James the very best forever home. James is a neutered male Maltese mix, what he is mixed with we do not know. James needed over $800 in medical care. James is hard of hearing & weighs roughly 10 lbs, neutered, is up to date on his shots, heart worm negative, chipped, just had a dental & a polish, had 3 fatty masses removed that were just fat, loves all other dogs, great with people, was only with cats at the vets so we have not had him around cats. James foster mum said he definitely can be in a family that has other dogs as he so sweet & kind to other dogs. He loves to sit next to you or on your lap & give you love, he is so sensitive & can pick up on his surroundings. He follows you around the house & just wants to be with you. James has some little quirky habits that would need to be worked with, & have some understanding he likes to play in the water bowl & stand in it. In CA he was a very picky eater & would only play with his kibble but in his foster home in WA he is not. But he does like to roll is food bowl around only sometimes to, this little man has a very unique personality but what a sweetheart he is. So James would need a forever home where the people are home during the day & can spend a lot of time with him & not leave him alone all day by himself. James has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it's always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so this would be up to the new family to be responsible with. We do not know for sure what breed James is mixed with & it's always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & James friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training will in fact take them to training. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting James & going through the process and have read her listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it's a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for James that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. James has an adoption fee of $685 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through. An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities.
