About Rudy

Meet Rudy, very sweet and loving predominantly Black Lab mix, approximately 50-55 pounds. He is a rescue and has been with us for approximately 6 years, putting his age close to 7. He does have some hip dysplasia but is managed by medication/supplements. Not super energetic due to his hip issue, but has no problems with normal mobility. Very people-centric, loves being petted and snuggling in bed, and yes he will sleep with you, or on his bed. Unfortunately he turned on his housemate. We believe he was out barking at the next door dogs when she got excited and nipped/bit at his hind legs (she is a smaller herding breed) and due to his sensitivity he snapped. He has never shown any aggression before, other than the typical posturing when meeting a new dog. However due to the size of our other dogs and children I can no longer trust him to stay here, especially as they are home by themselves for extended periods. He has no problem being home and uses the doggie door with no problems. We would very much like to find him a forever home, especially my daughter as she is closest to him and he is considered 'her dog', or at least a long-term foster as opposed to putting him down, but unfortunately he can no longer stay with us. Please help find Rudy a home he can live out his days in. Thank you.
