About Boston

Adoption Fee: $429
Poodle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Reason for being in rescue: Boston was surrendered to CPR due to a history of biting. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Boston has a history of nipping out of fear or pain. He needs a very experienced, patient owner to work with him. Weight: 61 lbs Height: Estimated 30 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $429 Fence needed? Yes What kind of home would be best for me? Boston needs a stable, consistent home with an owner experienced with head strong dogs. It would be best if Boston went to a home with no other neighbors, he does bark and whine when seeing his friends leave! What is my personality like? Boston is a high energy, go-getter type of dog. You will never have to wonder what it is he does or doesn't want/appreciate.. he will let you know! He was released to the rescue with a bite history generated from pain or fear. Since he has been with us we have not seen any bittng but we also have been careful not to provoke him. Boston loves playing, back scratches, and car rides! He needs plenty of exercise to help stimulate his mind. So far he has done fine with the dogs and one cat he has met. When first meeting him he may bark, but give him time, treats and a back scratch and he will warm up to you. Boston does know basic commands but for some reason when asking him to do one of them he does growl. We think it's just because he is a bit stubborn and does not like being told what to do! He is a leader- not a follower and will need a special owner to teach him manners. How do I act when I first meet new people? Cautious Other tips and tidbits: Boston does come with a bite history. He has only bitten/nipped when afraid or had pain. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
