About Zelie

Zelie is a petite princess whose mom was a purebred Persian and whose dad was a neighborhood tom cat. I took Zelie in to my rescue fold in January of 2010 when the breeder threatened to have her euthanized as she was not a purebred. She is 9 years old, spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and tested negative for both feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. Zelie was previously adopted but was unfortunately recently returned to me as her adoptive mom was having health issues and was no longer able to care for her. Since returning to my care Zelie has resumed her playful ways zipping around my bedroom chasing after balls and stuffed mice. When she is not playing Zelie enjoys relaxing in her window seat watching squirrels and chipmunks galivanting around my yard or snoozing in sunbeams. Zelie enjoys pets and snuggles but on her own terms as she can be somewhat shy. I attribute her recent shyness to the decline in her adoptive mom's health. According to her former mom's sister, Zelie's mom had been struggling for a number of months before her family realized her decline, and she had not been interacting with Zelie and her two other kitties as she was incredibly challenged both mentally and physically. With the love and affection of a new human of her very own who has time to engage with her I am confident this personality packed little one will flourish and fully return to her gregarious self.
