About Mallory

Mallory is a Labrador/Boxer mix. We adopted Mallory from Animal Control in 2010 when she was 2 years old. She is a sweet, relaxed dog that loves affection (especially a good belly rub), walks, and just chilling with the family. Mallory is a good watchdog without being overly barky. She will respond to commands, particularly the command 'pillow' for her to go to her bed when necessary. Mallory has never been big on fetch or tug-o-war, rather just running and pouncing on toys, giving her toys a good shake. She is also house trained, however, not crate trained. Mallory is aggressive with food. On 10/21, our 2 year old daughter entered her space while Mallory was eating and she bit our daughter on the leg. This is why we need to find Mallory a new home. Someone without children in the home who would be able to work with Mallory and her food aggression would be ideal. She does not show aggression in other ways, so we feel she will make a great companion for the right people. We have not had any success so far,. Ger age, behavior, and Cushings disease make this challenging. Please let me know if you can help. She is currently at Carolinas Veterinary Medical Hospital. We have authorized them to share her medical and boarding records for an overall view of her health.
