About Jasper

This is gentle Jasper. He is a 7 year old Pomeranian who weighs 9 lbs. Jasper was surrendered to us by his owner. Sadly, not a new experience for him as we understand he has been passed around more than once in his life already. To add insult to injury he was recently adopted but returned because he didn't fit into the new family as well as they hoped. He is shy when he meets new people and needs time to learn trust. Jasper is a sweet boy who get along with most dogs. In fact he is quite submissive and doesn't like to make waves at all. He just wants to fit in. He seems to be good with kids and likes to follow his foster mom around the house. Jasper prefers a quiet, laid back environment and that's not something you can control with kids, especially younger ones. He would do better with somebody who can be around during the day to help him settle. He has not been tested with cats. He learns very quickly and is eager to please. Jasper likes to be picked up and held and is happy to be carried around wherever you want to take him. He seems to be housebroken but as there is another male in the house he is prone to mark, so we keep a belly band on him in the house until that behavior is corrected. He does put his leg down when he is reprimanded to stop so he does take notice and, as smart as he is, he will soon be broken of that habit. Jasper is like a lot of Poms that will stand up on their hind legs and wave their front paws together at you for attention. It's pretty cute to see! He would love to sleep at night with his foster mom but right now her own dogs are kind of possessive of that space so he has to make do with a bed close by. He is so ready for a forever home of his own where he can be loved and pampered!
