About Duke

Duke, Duke, Duke - oh when will you find the right home? Duke has been in and out of the shelter now 4 times. He is a four and a half year old Boxer mix who acts about 6 months old. He is SUPER high energy - jumps well above your head with all four feet off the ground. He needs LOTS AND LOTS of room to run and play. He gets along with other dogs - probably not cats. Why does he keep coming back to the shelter you ask - well simple answer is that he is not nice to strangers. If he doesn't know you he comes across like he will eat you - no bite history and has never gone after anyone but he gives off the appearance that he will and it scares people with his size. He has way too much energy for little kids. He would be a great farm dog (provided you have shelter for him). He needs miles and miles of exercise on a daily basis. He walks well for our volunteers on a leash. Duke's adoption fee is $50.00 - he is neutered, current on his shots, heartworm negative, current on preventtives and micro-chipped. He just needs a high energy home who understands his desire to not have strangers around.
