About Winnie

Welcome Winnie. She is a 10-year old Piebald Dachshund. She is sweet, gentle and the ultimate lap companion. She is up on her shots, spayed and ready for her forever home. She and her brother Oscar were owned by a 96-year-old man and he passed away. They are bonded and we would love them to be adopted together. We have had them in separate foster homes to see how they did and it was fine. However, it was a very cheerful meeting when we put them back together. Winnie is blind or sees only shadows and has been since birth. She gets along great and her other senses have stepped up to help her get along fine. That being said, she likes to be carried and cuddled. She is a pee and poop-o-matic when you place her in the grass. She waits no time to do her business. She can hold up to 4 hours and will go on a pee pee pad. She likes to go on walks with her brother and her brother is gregarious and outgoing. Oscar loves kids. He is a huge fan of walks and you would swear he is only 2 by his energy and playfulness. Dachshunds have been known to live up to the possible age of 18 so they truly are only middle age. Winnie likes to sleep with her humans and is very nice and still in the bed. She will cry if you don't allow her to sleep with you. We are looking for a family familiar with the Dachshund breed and someone retired or working part time or a dog walker letting them out every 4 hours is the best scenario. Her adoption fee is 185 and transport is 185. They are in Texas and can be adopted locally or transported to the East or the West Coast.
